Nearly all new faces are coming to council in The Township of Greater Madawaska.
Aside from Ward 2 councillor being acclaimed, the mayor’s seat and all other wards will see new representation.
Bill Beacham takes the mayor’s seat from incumbent Rob Weir by a margin of 233 votes.
Among his top priorities is improving communications with the community and engage residents in the township’s future plans.
He also hopes to build a strong relationship between the next council term and the township’s management team, whose competence and experience will be necessary as they conduct municipal matters in a transparent and open fashion.
The township saw a voter turnout of 40.87%, receiving a total of 2,114 ballots out of 5,172 eligible voters.
