Advanced voting is under way and it’s a mad dash to election day. WOW FM reporters reached out to candidates running for seats around the council table in Greater Madawaska, to give them the opportunity to share their platform with you, the voter.
In this article, you will be able to read the platform of David Burton running for a seat on council in the Township of Greater Madawaska. This is his submission.
Hi my name is David Burton, and I am running for Councillor of Ward 3 Greater Madawaska. I am running to bring a sense of trust and renewed faith between the residents of ward 3 and the municipality, by encouraging open communication and dialog.
My platform is simple, to insure that financial accountability and transparency regarding spending and public works projects, are known to the residents of Ward 3; This includes ensuring that tax payer dollars are used responsibly and in the best interests of Ward 3.
To improve emergency and first responder services, for better response times and a safer municipality. And to work on development and growth to ensure that Ward 3 is a welcome place for new families, along with making sure current residents have a means to continue to stay a part of the community.
I hope that on October 26, you will consider me for Councillor and together we can bring a new sense of unity and cooperation to Ward 3 and Greater Madawaska.
