October in the Ottawa Valley will be ushered in with a fall fling to support patients at the local children’s hospital.
Carolyn and Brenda with the volunteer group Helping Hands+ are going bigger than ever before with this Friday’s Fall for CHEO fundraiser, welcoming the community to the Arnprior Parish Hall for a special evening of fundraising led by two special musical guests: the bands Arc of Fire and Ambush.
Friday’s entertainment will support the Kendyl Smith-Trimm Caring For Kids endowment fund, continuing the legacy of a young Ottawa Valley girl and her battle with cancer by helping her family get closer to their goal of raising $500,000 to assist local families making the trip to Ottawa for treatment.
Guests will also have the chance to enjoy complimentary food from The Cupboard, meet with the CHEO Bear, and learn more about the local children’s hospital and their impact on the community.
It’s all part of a continuing effort by the people behind Helping Hands+ to put their support behind people and causes that they and donors can feel good about.
The doors open at the Parish Hall at 5:00 pm on Friday, October 2, with Arc of Fire opening the event at 6:00 pm.
Tickets are on sale for $25 in advance at the Super Lucky Dollar Store in Arnprior, Scheel’s Furniture and Appliances in Pakenham, Making Seasons Bright in Pembroke, and Ellie’s Closet in Renfrew. Attendees can also get tickets at the door for $30 each. Kids 18 and under can attend for free until 8:00 pm.
