TODAY: Really Cool Initiatives and the Renfrew O’Brien Theatre present an exclusive screening of Jewel of the Desert, an Academy Award contending documentary feature that has won multiple awards an international film festivals. 6:30 pm on Monday, September 21. Free admission, but donations supporting Really Cool Initiatives would be appreciated.
TODAY: Whatknots Knitting Circle returns to the Arnprior Library this Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM! A great social gathering of those who love to get creative. This informal group meets downstairs at the fireplace during the summer months. Participants bring their current yarn projects share ideas and conversation in a creative environment.
TODAY: Cold Bear Brewery in Arnprior hosts their cornhole league Monday nights at 6:00 pm! The greatest athletes in Arnprior and the surrounding area will gather at their Madawaska Blvd. location to compete for a Cold Bear gift card. Games will be played in teams of 2, sign up as a team for $5. Plus, BBQ will be available as a dinner option on Monday nights!
TOMORROW: Long and McQuade will bring aspiring musicians to the myFM Centre in Renfrew this Tuesday for guitar lessons! Students will leave this beginner course with a better understanding of rhythm, musicality, and technique, as well as a greater appreciation for guitar and music as a whole that serves them in their future musical endeavours! Three age groups, 6-10 at 6:00 pm, 11-15 at 7:00 pm, and 16+ at 8:00 pm. Register online.
TOMORROW: Arnprior residents can meet the their mayoral candidates at a special meet-up event at the local Masonic Hall, 31 James St. at 6:30 pm this Tuesday, September 22. The Arnprior Lions Club play host as residents get the chance to hear from the three candidates. No registration required, admission is free. Send questions to arnpriorlionsclub42@gmail.com.
TOMORROW: Get ready to explore the realms of fantasy with the Renfrew Library’s teen Dungeons and Dragons session this Tuesday at 4:00 pm! Teens aged 14 to 18 can quest through the world of D&D in a convenient two-shot program. Be sure to have your character ready using the game’s 5e 2014 rules ahead of the evening. Register online.
