Businesses in the Ottawa Valley are getting help as they build long-term growth in the face of a rapidly changing market.
The Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation has announced the relaunch of their CANtrade program, a fund that provides loans from $1,500 to $150,000 that are designed to assist entrepreneurs looking to diversify their supply chains, expand into new markets, increase inter-provincial sales, or grow exports of locally made products.
CANtrade, which was introduced locally by the RCCFDC in 2025, aligns with broader federal efforts to help businesses respond to changing trade conditions and economic uncertainty, such as the Regional Tariff Response Initiative delivered by FedDev Ontario.
“Our local businesses are resourceful and resilient, and this fund provides another tool to help them adapt, grow, and succeed,” said Wendy Stone, Board Chair of Renfrew County Community Futures. “We’re pleased to bring CANtrade
back to Renfrew County and continue supporting the entrepreneurs and businesses that drive our local economy.”
Details on program eligibility are available on the RCCFDC website.
