Renfrew Power Generation’s ongoing preparations for the winter will affect another local lake.
RPG and the Lake Clear Property Owners Association are warning water users along Lake Clear, southwest of Eganville, and its shoreline that water levels will be gradually lowered beginning on October 1.
The annual drawdown is meant to protect local wildlife and property in anticipation of the high water that comes during the spring thaw. Similar plans are already set to begin along Round Lake on September 7.
Lake users are being advised to avoid areas that may become unsafe for boating, ice fishing, or snowmobiling as water levels gradually decline. Boat removal may become difficult if left too late.
