The General Manager of Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has some advice for parents of kids struggling to adjust to their school bus schedules now that the 2025-26 school year is underway.
Justin Jeffrey urges parents to review bus stop routines and pick-up plans with their children as soon as possible.
Jeffrey also urges parents to sign up for the RCJTC’s parent portal so they can receive the latest updates on delays and cancellations as quickly as possible.
According to Jeffrey, while bus companies in Renfrew County are still recruiting new drivers, the region is in a much better position than they were at the start of last school year to transport as many kids as possible.
As students return to school, Jeffrey urges motorists across Renfrew County to watch out for buses, slow down in school zones and give themselves some extra time to commute to work in the morning.
Both parents and prospective future bus drivers can find more information on the RCJTC’s website.
