The Labour Day Long-Weekend marks the unofficial end to summer and the OPP want to keep it safe.
Since 2015, the police have seen nearly 70 collisions and over 75 fatalities over the holiday weekend, more than any other long-weekend throughout the year.
In a media release, they say nearly all fatalities can be connected to impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and not wearing a seatbelt, helmet or a lifejacket if you’re on the water.
Officers will be patrolling throughout the province to ensure a roads, trails and waterways remain safe.
You can report any dangerous or impaired driving by calling 9-1-1, when it’s safe to do so.
