If you notice a drop in water pressure or some discoloured water, it’s not just you.
The Township of Mississippi Mills is planning to flush watermains throughout Almonte Ward from September 14th until October 30th, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The flushing is part of an annual maintenance plan that helps clear sediment that has built up over time.
During the flushing program, residents can expect temporary drops in water pressure, discoloured water or a slight interruption in water service.
The township says if you notice your water has become discoloured, do the following steps.
- Avoid drinking or washing laundry until it clears
- Wait 20-30 minutes while crews conduct the flushing
- Run one cold water tap until it runs clear
The municipality suggests filling containers with drinking and cooking water before the flushing begins each day.
For more information or questions on the flushing program, visit the township’s website and contact the Roads and Public Works Department.
