TODAY: Join the McNab/Braeside Weekly Paddle Group for their final Monday morning at Burnstown Beach for a relaxed kayaking or paddleboarding outing on August 31. The free, social group welcomes all skill levels and offers a chance to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and take in the scenery at a leisurely pace.
TODAY: Whatknots Knitting Circle returns to the Arnprior Library this Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM! A great social gathering of those who love to get creative. This informal group meets downstairs at the fireplace during the summer months. Participants bring their current yarn projects share ideas and conversation in a creative environment.
TODAY: Cold Bear Brewery in Arnprior hosts their cornhole league Monday nights at 6:00 pm! The greatest athletes in Arnprior and the surrounding area will gather at their Madawaska Blvd. location to compete for a Cold Bear gift card. Games will be played in teams of 2, sign up as a team for $5. Plus, BBQ will be available as a dinner option on Monday nights!
TOMORROW: Tuesday nights are Euchre Night at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Beachburg! Drop by the church basement for games starting at 7:00 pm. Come play 4 hand, 6 hand, or bid euchre, depending on the interest of those attending. Also, anyone wanting to learn Bid Euchre, we will teach you. Questions? TOMORROW: The Renfrew Public Library hosts a weekly technology workshop every Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Come with questions and problems and learn the basics of computers, tablets, and phones. For ages 18+.
TOMORROW: The Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation hosts a Mother Earth Medicine Wheel teaching and ceremony event every Tuesday until October 27. Head to the BAFN Cultural Centre, Ma-te-Way Park in Renfrew, for a potluck style meal starting at 11:30 am before teachings are shared at 12:30 pm. Hosted by Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation Knowledge-Holder Sherry Dion.
THIS MONTH: The Cobden, Arnprior, and Renfrew Agricultural Societies present the Renfrew County Fair Jackpot 50/50. Proceeds from the raffle support community events and invest in improvements for all three volunteer-led organizations. Buy your tickets online or at the Renfrew Fair September 10-13.
