Allyson Parkes and Harris Wade Photo sourced: Special Olympics Canada Summer Games
Two local athletes have come up big at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
Harris Wade of the Arnprior Red Fish Swimming Club took home a silver medal. The Burnstown native competed in the 25 metre butterfly.
Allyson Parkes of Griffith won a bronze medal in Bocce. This was her third trip to the Nationals.
The games were held from August 11th to the 15th in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
