An illness can really dampen your summer.
Southeast Public Health announced Friday, August 7th, that the Pakenham Beach at Fred Millar Field has tested for high levels of E.coli bacteria. Because of this, the beach has received a red result and a swimming advisory has been put in place.
According to Southeast Public Health’s website, swimming could increase the risk of developing minor infections or a stomach illness. If you do choose to enter the water, it is recommended to keep your head above water and to avoid swallowing any water.
