Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
The Garden Club/Seed Library meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 6-730PM in the Gaumond Room of the Library’s Main Community Hall. Learn all about native plants, pollinators, seeds and more!
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum is hosting a series of themed Summer Camps designed to foster cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Programming runs from 8:30-3:30 until August 28th, with extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee. Kids from 4 to 10 years of age are invited to sign up.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: The Village of Pakenham gives you a head-start on Canada Day, and here’s the heads-up!
Events begin with the RBC BBQ at Tuesday June 30th at 430PM. Bouncy Castles and birthday events follow at 6PM.The Pakenham Canada Day Parade is at 7PM, followed by the Mississippi Mills Fireman’s BBQ and music at the arena with Mike Ryan and Friends. Fireworks at dusk complete the perfect evening.
Take Note: The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum is currently featuring two exhibitions from Carole Baillargeon. “Rock Paper Scissors” and “Tartan: Culture and Cloth” are on display until July 26th.
Carleton Place:
Today: The Carleton Place Community Lunch takes place from Noon-1PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street.
Pride Picnic happens from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Carleton Place Public Library, 101 Beckwith Street. Attend this family event celebrating Pride Month. Bring a picnic lunch and join in some fun activities behind the library. A special appearance by Michelle’s Ice Cream Carnival (weather permitting) around 2pm.
Civitan Weekly Bingo is on from 430-9PM at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street.

Jammin’ At The Junction June 30 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm with Caleb and Mia Marshall happens at Carleton Junction 42 Moore Street. Bring a blanket or chair, and get ready for some great live music! All shows start at 6:30p.m. The Town thanks returning presenting sponsor Lépine Apartments.
Foundry Trivia Night occurs from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Foundry Coffee Bar 122 Bridge Street.
Tickets are $20 each + tax! Join us for a night of TRIVIA with host Cody Wilby. Beverage of choice included in ticket price! Doors open at 6:00pm. Full menu from Foundry Coffee Bar will be available. Trivia starts at 6:30pm
Monster Bingo is on at the Carleton Place Arena 75 Neelin Street from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm in the Upper Hall. Doors open at 4. Must buy $60 package. Super Jackpot of $2000 “MUST GO”, bigger prize board. Nice hot dinner will be available for $12 from 4:00PM on.
Tomorrow: The free Community Breakfast occurs from 8-10AM at St. James Anglican Church, 225 Edmund Street. All are welcome.
Canada Day in Carleton Place happens at Riverside Park from 1-10PM. The venue is Riverside Park, and due to construction activity the Town will offer a Shuttle Bus Service to and from the event. Pick Up Locations: Carleton Place Arena: 75 Neelin Street and Market Square Pavilion: 7 Beckwith Street. Enjoy free parking, hop on the shuttle, and arrive at the entrance to the Carleton Place Canada Day Celebrations! When you are ready to go: Head back to the Shuttle Bus Pick Up/Drop Off Location and wait for the next trip. Shuttles run continuously: 12:45p.m. – 5:00p.m. & 6:00p.m. – 10:15p.m. Alternatively, bike to the celebrations. The Carleton Place Environmental Advisory Committee is proud to assist in the presentation of a Bicycle Valet. Travel by bike to the festivities and take comfort in knowing your bicycle will be safely secured. The project is made possible by funding through the County of Lanark under the Local Tourism Initiatives Fund.
The day will include Family Activities, live entertainment, food and refreshments and a Fireworks display at dusk. This event is proudly funded in part by the Government of Canada. We acknowledge and appreciate the funding support to ensure these activities remain free for all to celebrate.
