Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: Whatknots Knitting Circle happens from 10-1130AM in Scharf Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. It’s a great social gathering of those who love to get creative. Participants bring their current yarn projects share ideas and conversation in a creative environment.
Paper Quilling Workshops are proving quite popular. Offered Mondays from 1-3PM in Scharf Hall; you are welcome whether you are a paper quilling enthusiast, or new to the craft and looking for others who want to learn from one another and enjoy some social time. You bring your own supplies and projects; the library will provide the space. Please register space can be set up accordingly. This same program will be offered Tuesday afternoons to accommodate numbers.
Learn English with us is an Adult Program offered from 430-7PM in the Art Corridor, lower level of the Arnprior Public Library. Newcomers are welcome to attend this free drop-in ESL program led by a qualified volunteer tutor. If you have not attended previously, please complete the registration form so that your attendance can be anticipated.
A French Conversation meet-up happens from 545-645PM in Scharf Hall at the Arnprior Public Library. The program is led by volunteers Melanie and Angelique, and all levels of French learners are welcome.
Tomorrow: A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
The Garden Club/Seed Library meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 6-730PM in the Gaumond Room of the Library’s Main Community Hall. Learn all about native plants, pollinators, seeds and more!
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum is hosting a series of themed Summer Camps designed to foster cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Programming runs from 8:30-3:30 June 29th to August 28th, with extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee. Kids from 4 to 10 years of age are invited to sign up.
Mississippi Mills:
Tomorrow: The Village of Pakenham gives you a head-start on Canada Day, and here’s the heads-up!
Events begin with the RBC BBQ at Tuesday June 30th at 430PM. Bouncy Castles and birthday events follow at 6PM.The Pakenham Canada Day Parade is at 7PM, followed by the Mississippi Mills Fireman’s BBQ and music at the arena with Mike Ryan and Friends. Fireworks at dusk complete the perfect evening.
Take Note: The Mississippi Valley Textil Museum is currently featuring two exhibitions from Carole Baillargeon. “Rock Paper Scissors” and “Tartan: Culture and Cloth” are on display until July 26th.
Carleton Place:
Today: The Beyond Curling Social Scene happens from 1130AM-330PM at the Curling Club, 120 Patterson Crescent.
Tomorrow: The Carleton Place Community Lunch takes place from Noon-1PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street.
Pride Picnic happens from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Carleton Place Public Library, 101 Beckwith Street. Attend this family event celebrating Pride Month. Bring a picnic lunch and join in some fun activities behind the library. A special appearance by Michelle’s Ice Cream Carnival (weather permitting) around 2pm.
Civitan Weekly Bingo is on from 430-9PM at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street.

Jammin’ At The Junction June 30 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm with Caleb and Mia Marshall happens at Carleton Junction 42 Moore Street. Bring a blanket or chair, and get ready for some great live music! All shows start at 6:30p.m. The Town thanks returning presenting sponsor Lépine Apartments.
Foundry Trivia Night occurs from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Foundry Coffee Bar 122 Bridge Street.
