Every year Arnprior residents may note portions of the Town’s sidewalk network emblazoned with paint markings.
Engineering Officer Patrick Foley explained procedures to Arnprior Town Council Monday.
By doing the markings annually, the process provides a visual record of the deterioration over time.
Sidewalk repairs are more likely to occur on routes where no scheduled street reconstruction is imminent.
He says the physical markings correspond to a GPS-indexed photographic record that helps the Town keep track of walkway wear-and-tear over time.
As you stroll, remember the childhood rhyme, “Step on a crack”, and tred with care.
