Arnprior:
Today: English Lessons for beginners In-Person happens from 10AM-Noon in the Gaumand Room of the Arnprior Public Library. Newcomers are welcome to attend this free drop-in ESL program led by qualified volunteer tutors. The Friday meet-ups are geared toward beginner learners. Meet new people, enjoy a coffee and improve your English skills.
A Bridge Club drop in welcomes players from beginners to experienced Fridays from 1230-330PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. There is no fee or registration to attend, however donations will be accepted in support of the High School’s Guidance Office and their Teens in Need program.
A Health Unit Outreach session will be held from 2-4PM in the Main Library, for all ages. Find out more about PCDHU services and resources. You’ll be able to pick up a well water testing kit, naloxone kits and information about the health unit’s various programs including immunization clinics, drug prevention, registration for the Canadian Dental Plan among other services.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: Bidding concludes in the Friends of Mississippi Mills Public Library’s Online Auction, featuring the best of Mississippi Mills local services. Proceeds will support Library programming. Place a bid on your favourite items at www.32auctions.com/TheBestofMM
Tomorrow: Come out and play some pickleball from 9AM-4PM at the John Levi Community Centre, Curling Slab, 182 Bridge Street, there are four pickleball courts set up and ready for play. Cost (cash only) is $4 residents, $6 non-residents and $2 youth residents, $3 youth non-residents (under 18). Paddles and balls can be borrowed on site at no charge.
Celebrating Solstice Together is happening from 1-6PM at Riverfront Estates Waterfront Park on Spring Street in Almonte. The day kicks off at 1 p.m. with a Guided Paddle with an Indigenous elder down the Mississippi River. Bring your canoe or kayak to the dock to be part of this great experience. After the paddle, enjoy live music, drumming, family crafts and activities, wood carving and a BBQ (by donation) The event is brought to you by Mississippi Mills All My Relations, Ginawaydaganuc Village, Government of Canada and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
Give the season the slip, and attend the the Almonte Fair Spring Dance at 190 Water Street, starting at 730PM. There’s live music from the Glen Silverson Band, experience the talent of our local 4-H Square Dancing Achievement Night, and take part in an exciting live Baked Goods auction, hosted by John O’Neill. Carleton Place:
Today: The 2026 Carleton Place Beer Festival is happening from 4-10PM at the CP Farmers Market on 7 Beckwith Street. It’s a 19+ event; bring your government-issued photo ID. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, and your admission includes a reusable and collectable drinking glass along with two beer tickets. As well there will be live music, food trucks, dunk tank, and artisan craft vendors. A friendly reminder: Drink responsibly and know your limits.
Live Music at St. James Gate happens at 111 Bridge Street from 7-10PM featuring Spencer Scarf.
Tomorrow: The Carleton Place Farmers Market happens every Saturday until October 10th, from 830AM-1230PM at Market Square, 7 Beckwith Street. Enjoy Fresh produce, baked goods, handmade treasures — rain or shine.

The Pie Are Squared Food Company pop-up happens from 1030AM-1230PM at Carleton Place Gallery 210 Bridge Street, (until sold out). Once a month, Henry Strong from PieAreSquared appears in the gallery with his scones, bread, pies, cookies, and amazing butter tarts.
The Carleton Place Youth Landscape Art Competition Awards take place from 1-2PM at the Carleton Place Library, 101 Beckwith Street.
The CPDHS Summer Flower Show & Social happens from 1-4PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street.
NLCC Euchre happens from 7-9PM at the Navy League of Canada, 137 John Street on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Doors open at 6:30PM. Cost – $10 pp (bring a new to us player for $5) Prizes -1/2 of the pot goes back out in prizes. For information call Lynda 613-257-5214
