Five municipalities across the southern part of Renfrew County are teaming up to ensure fair ballots this fall.
Arnprior, Admaston/Bromley, McNab/Braeside, Horton, and Greater Madawaska are seeking one resident from each municipality to become part of their newly formed Joint Compliance Audit Committee ahead of the 2026 election.
The committee will be responsible for handling audit requests from electors who believe that a candidate or third-party advertiser is breaking the Municipal Voting Act’s rules regarding campaign or advertising finances.
The positions are open to the public but cannot be held by municipal employees or officials, members of council or a local board, candidates in the upcoming election, or anyone registered as a third-party advertiser for the election.
Experience in accounting, auditing, and legal matters, as well as knowledge of campaign finance rules, is considered an asset.
