A summer camp in the Ottawa Valley serving kids ages 6 to 15 years old has an open house coming up this weekend ahead of the start of its operating season.
Camp Lau-Ren’s open house is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Emily McKenzie, the chair of the camp’s board of directors, says the overnight camp is located about 10 kilometres outside of Deep River, along the Ottawa River.
Lau-Ren also offers a “leaders in training” camp for 15-year-old kids that runs parallel to another camp for younger children.
McKenzie says families who have never been to the camp, as well as people who have been multiple times and want to learn about any differences this year, are encouraged to attend the open house.
McKenzie also says registration is still open for some of Camp Lau-Ren’s 2026 offerings.
For anyone interested in signing up for one of the camps who can’t attend the open house, McKenzie recommends checking the camp’s website and social media pages.
According to McKenzie, there’s nowhere else better for local kids to spend their summer.
