Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: The Arnprior 10 Book Club meets from 11AM to 1230PM from September to June in Scharf Hall. It’s a collaboration between the Library and the Seniors Active Living Centre. June’s read is: Instructions for a Heatwave by Maggie O’Farrell. The club is currently at capacity, but if you would like to add your name to the list, please send us an email and we will let you know when a space becomes available. library@arnpriorlibrary.ca
A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
Paper Quilling Workshops are offered Tuesday afternoons from 1-3PM in addition to the Monday session. These are held in Scharf Hall; you are welcome whether you are a paper quilling enthusiast, or new to the craft, and looking for others who want to learn from one another and enjoy some social time. You bring your own supplies and projects; the library will provide the space. Please register space can be set up accordingly.
The Garden Club/Seed Library group meets from 6-730PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library to discuss and learn about native plants, pollinators, seeds and related topics.
Tomorrow: A Community Chess Club meet-up takes place from Noon-5PM in the Art Corridor of the Arnprior Public Library. This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Wednesday from 3-330PM at the Arnprior Public Library as Clancy and his handler Angela to meet with library visitors. Clancy is a happy Glen of Imaal Terrier. His breed is originally from Ireland. They were farm dogs and used for hunting fox and badger. Stop by to meet Clancy as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Find out about the Museum’s new loom and spinning equipment that are available for public use.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: Viewing continues for the Friends of the Mississippi Mills Public Library’s 2026 online auction until Sunday June 7th, followed by bidding from June 8th until the 19th. An Artisinal Sourdough Bread Making Class is being offered from 6-9PM at Blue Spoon Atelier Bakery and Cafe, 5 Allan Street. Chef Burcu will guide you through the process, from preparing the sourdough, mixing the dough to baking the perfect loaf. You will create your own bread and take home what you bake in the class.
