The current term of Council in McNab-Braeside has shown the flexibility of members to collaborate on functional efficiency, and as we enter the final few months, elected representatives advise that Regular Council Meetings are returning to the Township’s traditional start time of 6PM, effective tomorrow (June 2nd).
At its May 19th, 2026 meeting, Council concluded the pilot program of evaluating daytime Council meetings.
The pilot program was launched in November 2025, and merged Committee of the Whole and Regular Council meetings into a single meeting format wherein meetings began at 930AM.
While Township Administration noted the pilot improved operational efficiency, reduced duplication, streamlined agenda preparation, and reduced overtime pressures, Council also received significant public feedback from residents expressing a preference for the evening sessions.
Separate Committee of the Whole meetings not be reinstated and future Council meetings will continue to be livestreamed and archived for public access.
