Highway 17 has reopened from Foresters Falls Road to Kohlsmith Road in the Cobden area after a serious two-vehicle collision.
According to a press release from the Renfrew County OPP detachment, officers arrived at the scene at roughly 10:39 a.m. this morning. In the time since, a 62-year-old woman from Cobden has been pronounced dead. OPP Provincial Constable Tina Hunt says no further injuries have been reported so far.
Technical Collision Investigators and a Reconstructionist from the OPP attended the scene alongside emergency crews, and officers say the investigation remains ongoing. Following the crash, that stretch of the highway was closed for several hours before reopening after 4:00 p.m.
