A check of the unofficial candidate listings published for the Township of McNab-Braeside as of May 19th shows three persons nominated thus far for the role of Chief Executive, as Lori Hoddinott, Oliver Jacob and Lou Laventure have had their papers accepted for the position of Mayor.
Deputy Mayor Scott Brum is being challenged in the role by former Mayor Tom Peckett, and there are presently two nominees for the three Councillor positions.
Braeside resident Rob Tremblay has plenty of civic experience on the municipal side of things- having been CAO in both Whitewater Region and the Town of Renfrew, but is now seeking an elected role.
Aldeen Styles is hoping to return to Council after an absence of some years- and we invited her to the studio to clarify that record, as our reporter had mis-programmed our AI search command.
We had indicated Styles as being a newcomer, based on searching as S-T-I-L-E-S.
Further, Aldeen maintained an interest in the business of the Township, sitting on its Planning Advisory Committee for some years following her elected service.
We’ve retained the rest of our interview for potential upcoming municipal candidate segments, but for now, just wanted to set the record straight.
