A featured guest at the annual general meeting of the Carleton Place and Beckwith Historical Society, held April 12th at the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum was developer James Mikulasik, the president of McArthur Island.
It’s not an elected role- he purchased the 14 acre property in the Mississsippi River at 150 Mill Street in Carelton Place in 2008.
Inside Ottawa Valley reported on his presentation as guest speaker in an article by Tara Gesner appearing in yesterday’s (the May 3rd) Carleton Place Almonte Canadian Gazette.
Mikulasik describes the initiative as, “Where history meets luxury,” as he’s been toiling on a labour of love that combines boutique hotel suites with luxury apartments ever since.
The developer’s presentation is a precursor to an exhibition opening at the Museum on the 30th of May, entitled, “The Story of McArthur Island”.
Opening ceremonies at 257 Edmund Street, begin at 10AM
