Perhaps you were at last Saturday’s Spring Fling at the Almonte Civitan Hall, or perhaps you’ve heard club member Ron Terpstra on the radio talking about the local Civitans’ planned Accessible Family Playground project, which is slated to appear on Civitan acreage on Almonte Street before you know it.
Terpstra says it’s a huge initiative, not only in terms of the number of amenities- but also the cost factor of construction is somewhere shy of a million dollars.
The Civitan member says there’s a catalogue of the amenities planned.
You can get a sneak peak at the artist’s conceptual drawings by going to the Civitan website.
Terpstra says the initiative involves the entire membership of the local club.
The Civitan spokesperson says not only will the playground be of benefit to its target audience, the wider community will enjoy the features.
Some of the experiences to be had at the new Civitan Accessible Playground will be unique to the participant.
