Just because Earth Day got away from you this year, doesn’t mean it’s okay to forget all about biodiversity until 2027.
Biodiversity faces many threats today. If we don’t preserve it, some species will certainly disappear. The more we turn our attention to nature, the more we can protect it.
A possible strategy is to postpone spring yard clean up.
This both helps insects that are still hibernating and enables soil to firm up.
Convert a portion of your yard to a dedicated habitat area and avoid using chemicals. Provide native plants, water and shelter for the birds, bees and other wildlife that visit your yard.

There’s even a second yard waste collection week May 25-29th to make it convenient!
