Arnprior:
Today: Whatknots Knitting Circle happens from 10-1130AM in Scharf Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. It’s a
great social gathering of those who love to get creative. Participants bring their current yarn projects share ideas and conversation in a creative environment.
A Paper Quilling Workshop is happening this Monday and next (April 27th), from 10AM-Noon in Scharf Hall at the Arnprior Public Library. Learn about or hone your skills with Paper Quilling. Our workshop lead is an expert with the craft and will supply materials and guidance in creating a springtime butterfly creation. Registration has closed.

A Therapy Dog Visit occurs between 3-330PM at the Arnprior Library. Every Monday, Maggie and her handler meet with library visitors, especially the after school crowd. Maggie is a delightful Golden Retriever and always loves making new friends. She loves spreading joy throughout the library and will gravitate to cuddles and a treat afterwards. Stop by to meet Maggie as she gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
Monday Moments Yoga takes place in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Library from 315-4PM. It’s a
relaxing yoga session with Alexandra Leslie, and all skill levels are welcome. The library supplies yoga mats for this free program. Your library card is required for participation.
Learn English with us is an Adult Program offered from 430-7PM in the Art Corridor, lower level of the Arnprior Public Library. Newcomers are welcome to attend this free drop-in ESL program led by a qualified volunteer tutor. If you have not attended previously, please complete the registration form so that your attendance can be anticipated.
A French Conversation meet-up happens from 545-645PM in Scharf Hall at the Arnprior Public Library. The program is led by volunteers Melanie and Angelique, and all levels of French learners are welcome.
Tomorrow: A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. This is a day change from the previous Thursday Meet-Up. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum Summer Experimentation Station registration is OPEN! The initiative make films, build planets, measures slime, jousts in giant cardboard castles, and breaks pirate codes! The summer camp fosters cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Full weekly theme descriptions will be available in May but note that every day runs from 8:30AM-3:30PM June 29th to August 28th (Extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee). Mississippi Mills:
Today: MM Community Clean Up continues through April 26th. Reach out to the Town’s Roads and Public Works Department – waste@mississippimills.ca – and advise of the areas you’re tackling and the amount of bags you’ll need. The Municipality will provide the bags.
Echoes of the Past: Music in Mississippi Mills is the exhibition on display at the North Lanark Regional Museum. Discover the evolution of music in the home, the role of music in the church and the community, and music in wartime. The exhibit runs until to May 2026 at the museum, open Monday-Saturday from 10AM-3PM.
The Mississippi Mills Youth Centre offers Beauty Basics from 5-7PM at the MMYC. It’s a free program for youth ages 10-18, focusing on Face-Painting Basics as today’s topic. Register by contacting programcoordinator@mmyc.ca
Learning Again in Almonte is offering the course, ‘On Consciousness: Exploring the Fundamental Mystery of the Mind.’ It takes place over three Mondays until April 13-27th, from 7-9PM at the Almonte Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library. Cost is $48.

Local Sports:
Renfrew Minor Baseball (serving families from Renfrew, Arnprior, Douglas, etc.) is gearing up for its 2026 season, with practices and opening games typically starting late April / early May.
Divisions run from T-Ball through Senior, meaning diamonds will be busy most evenings. Arnprior-area minor softball also shifts into spring/summer play through municipal and association programs.
