This Wednesday may be payday, but it won’t cost you a penny to celebrate Canadian Cinema at the Almonte Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library.
April 15th is National Film Day, and the library is offering a special double feature of acclaimed Canadian cinematography.
At 1230PM, it’s 2023’s Blackberry that traces the tale of the meteoric rise-and dramatic fall-of the world’s first smartphone.
That’s followed by the 2018 story of The Grizzlies, the powerful true story of Inuit students whose lives are changed through lacrosse.
Come for one film or stay for both-no registration needed. Room capacity is 30, and yes… FREE popcorn.
Note- as it’s possible to have too much of a good thing, the double-screening Wednesday is in lieu of MMPL’s usual Film in the Afternoon, and there will be no presentation on April 22nd.
