The Algonquin Trail (seen here) and K&P Trail open to motorize users on May 1. Please note permits are required through provincial federations for riders of all-terrain vehicles and off-road motorcycles. County of Renfrew photo
Snowmobile season was a huge success locally, but officials now are asking for a little break before you bust out the ATV.
The stewards of the Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail system are reminding ATV, side-by-side, and motorized bike users that the trails are closed until May 1st in order to give the pathway time to dry out and allow their teams time to complete necessary maintenance.
Riders are being thanked for their cooperation in protecting the trail, as it ensures that conditions remain safe and enjoyable for the upcoming summer season.
The Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail spans 296 kilometers through the Renfrew and Lanark Counties and includes the K&P Trail from Renfrew to Calabogie and the Algonquin Trail, which runs from Arnprior to Deep River.
