It’s a double-whammy holiday for many, as Easter Weekend coincides with the Jewish observances of Pesach, or Passover in 2026.
Those who work for government, be it municipal, Provincial or Federal have Good Friday off, with these institutions keeping their doors latched Monday in lieu of any Easter Sunday entitlement.
In Arnprior, Easter Monday Container Recycling moves to Wednesday April 8th.
Banks and Credit Unions take Good Friday off– but generally make it a practice to avoid closures which stretch into a fourth day, so as not to slow business transactions or inconvenience clients.
(ATMs of course remain accessible- but remember, it’s quite a pile of fives to make up a hundred dollar withdrawal nearing holiday’s end).
Both the LCBO and Beer Store are closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday and each is open Monday. Cannabis outlets are free to remain open at their discretion.
Shoppers Drug Mart on Elgin Street is open to meet your needs on Good Friday, 8AM to 10PM.
No Frills, Metro and Giant Tiger are closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday with these grocers open Monday.
Oldies 107.7’s Office is closed Good Friday and regular broadcast days resume Monday, with the exception of any Breaking News that may occur.
