Work on the Waba Creek Bridge is going to force the closure of a portion of White Lake Road for two months this summer. The Township of McNab Braeside says the project includes repairs to the deck and barriers, as well as resurfacing. The bridge, located just west of Highland Road, will be under construction through July and August. A significant detour will be required while the work is being done. Traffic will be routed via Highland Road / Waba Road, returning via Campbell Side Road and Bellamy Road. Township officials say that while Kippen Road may appear to be an alternate route, it will also be under construction this summer so it can’t be used as a detour. Due to the increased traffic expected through the Village of Waba during the detour period, the township will be using traffic calming measures to keep the speed down and the village safe. Renfrew County has budgeted $850,000 for the work to ensure the bridge remains safe and reliable for the future.
