Author Phillippa Cranston Baran has released a second book on the life of her late brother Toller Cranston, known by most for his role in popularizing figure skating in Canada with his flamboyant performances.
Cranston Baran’s first tome on Toller, released in 2024 dealt with those exploits; what’s about to debut this coming Sunday at the O’Brien Theatre focuses on Toller Cranston the Artist, and is equally compelling.
There are over 400 illustrations of the Cranston “Magical Realism” style portrayed within.
Cranston Baran isn’t a novice writer- but her organizational approach to the presentation brings fresh eyes to art history.
The author holds her brother in high esteem for the characteristics he exhibited as both performer, and painter.
The event at the O’Brien Theatre — Sunday, January 25th at 2PM
Admission is FREE, but your RSVP is required (to Phillippa at phillippa@tollerinternational.com)
Is there a third book on Toller Cranston’s legacy?
We’ll continue our discussion with Phillippa Cranston Baran tomorrow.
