Take Note: The Diners’ Club by Seniors-At-Home takes place Wednesday, January 14th at Jim’s Restaurant 5pm-7pm. Offered will be your choice of Open Face Hot Turkey Sandwich or Breaded Fillet of Sole on a bed of rice. The meal Includes soup, dessert and tea or coffee and gratuity. Tickets $25, and need to be purchased by Noon Jan 9th. Entertainment by Alan Wright and Melinda Chaput.

Mississippi Mills:
Today: The Municipality is thrilled to offer FREE skating for little ones! The Parents ‘n Tots Skate happens Wednesdays from 11AM-Noon at the John Levi Community Centre (182 Bridge Street, Almonte). Visit www.mississippimills.ca/skating for more info.
A Seniors Skate happens from 1-3PM at the John Levi Community Centre in Almonte.
The Pakenham Community Skate takes place at 112 MacFarlane Street in Pakenham from 1-3PM
Pick-Up Hockey for Grades 6-9 happens from 4-5PM at the Stewart Community Centre in Pakenham. Admission is $5, and full equipment is required.
Tomorrow: Pickup Hockey for Grades 6-9 happens at the John Levy Community Centre in Almonte from 4-5PM. Admission is $5, and full equipment is required.
Pickup Hockey for Grades 10 to U21 takes place from 4-5PM at the Stewart Community Centre in Pakenham
Carleton Place:
Today: The Free Community Breakfast occurs from 8-10AM at St. James Anglican Church, 225 Edmund Street. All are welcome.
Happy New Year! The Cookbook Book Club is celebrating International Foods this month. Join the group on Wednesday January 7th at 630PM at the Carleton Place Public Library, 101 Beckwith Street. Make something new or bring along something you love to make that might not be a staple for many. As always, please try to avoid nuts in your recipes as this is a nut-free space.
Tomorrow: If you’re a senior looking to meet new people, join the Carleton Place Public Library for this new monthly meet up at the library before official opening hours (from 930-1030AM). Lots of good conversation, maybe a fun activity, and light refreshments! This fun session will take place regularly on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 9:30am. Please use the entrance just off the front ramp. No registration is required.
A new program starting this month is Family Pride Connect, which aims to support local families who have a family member or someone in their lives navigating an identity journey. Come and learn about local resources, chat with other families, and gain insight from local support speakers. There is no registration for this session—come alone, or bring your whole family. Everyone is welcome to the first meeting on Thursday, January 8 from 6-7PM at the Carleton Place Public Library.

EOJHL action has the Arnprior Packers hosting the Carleton Place Junior Canadians at 730PM Friday, January 9th at the Nick Smith Centre.
Arnprior Rivermen host the Shawville Pontiacs on Saturday January 10th, beginning at 630PM.
