The publication, Municipal World, has been serving the nation’s municipalities since 1891- so that’s where we went when we wanted an honest assessment of Christa Lowry’s performance of Chief Executive of Mississippi Mills.
Even when you strip away the superlative adjectives on her municipality’s social media, you’ll find all the algorithms still spell “accolade”, as Lowry has earned honourable mention in Municipal World’s 2025 #Women of Influence in Local Government category.
The article, by Sean Meyer, notes Lowry was surprised to be named an honourable mention, alongside Randy Goulden, a councillor in Yorkton, Sask.
The 2025 honouree is Lisa Pastro, director of operations for Westbank First Nation, in southern British Columbia.
Not seeking the recognition for herself, Lowry notes “it is essential for women to see other women in leadership roles”.
Congratulations, Christa, on your recognition.
