Current tinder-dry conditions may have contributed to a grass fire this afternoon (Tuesday afternoon) in Dunrobin. Ottawa Fire Service dispatch received a call at 1:40PM that a large area of grass was on fire on Rock Forest Road.
The caller feared a recreational trailer on the property was at risk.
Firefighters employed tanker trucks to shuttle water from a nearby source and were able to protect the endangered trailer while fighting the blaze in the extreme heat, and the fire was declared under control just before 230PM Tuesday afternoon.
