Jamie Bramburger was not just the Interim Dean of Algonquin College’s Waterfront Campus, but a Valley icon. He touched the lives of many people within the Ottawa Valley and was a voice that many people listened too and took advice from.
Jon Pole, President and Co-Founder of My Broadcasting Corporation, who has known Jamie since he was 16, was deeply shocked when the news broke. Pole expressed his heartfelt condolences to Jamie’s family, highlighting the profound impact Bramburger had as a dedicated community supporter. He spoke about Jamie’s commitment to giving back and how his contributions made a lasting difference in the lives of those around him.
Former Vice Chair of the Algonquin College Board of Governors Fred Blackstein shares his thoughts and memories spent alongside Jamie. “In this time of sorrow, it’s hard to capture a lifetime of work with Jamie on College and community projects. His contributions to economic development, local history, journalism, and charitable causes are well known. But what stands out most to me is his dedication to Algonquin College. Second only to his family, Jamie’s legacy is the thousands of successful students and the world-class waterfront campus. His impact is summed up in six words: JAMIE BRAMBURGER IS ALGONQUIN COLLEGE. ” said Blackstein.
Close friend and Your TV Broadcast partner Kyle Robinson had the pleasure of working alongside Jamie for almost 12 full season with the Lumber Kings calling hockey games for Your TV. He mentions how Jamie had been working with Your TV for nearly 30 years calling hockey games, and is known as being “Mr. Hockey”.
Jamie’s passing has left Pembroke in quiet mourning, as the community has lost a beloved icon whose presence and impact were deeply felt by all.
