It’s time to grab your runners, create a team and start gathering pledges – the date is set for Hospice Renfrew’s signature fundraising event.
The facility’s executive director Marjorie Joly tells Oldies that Hike for Hospice will take place on Sunday, May 4 this year.
Joly said Hike for Hospice is a wonderful opportunity to bring together hundreds of like-minded people who appreciate why the facility was established – to provide comfort, care and compassion to those who are nearing their end-of-life journey.
Because it is not 100 per cent funded by the Ministry of Health, Hospice Renfrew relies on fundraising events like the Hike, as well as donations from a wide range of community partners and individuals, said Joly.
On May 4, event registration starts at 12:30 p.m. and there are displays and activities for the kids. The hike itself begins at 2 p.m. from Hospice Renfrew.
Bacon on the Bun will be available for purchase starting at 2:30 p.m. while supplies last.
Registration for teams and donations is now open at: www.hospicerenfrew.ca
Hospice Renfrew is located at 459 Albert St.
