The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is offering a meaningful alternative: the gift of nature.
Spokesperson Andrew Holland says for almost three decades the NCC’s initiative links generous hearts esoterically with pristine landscape and rare species.
Participants can can also support the conservation of landscapes in regions across the country.
Holland says NCC’s green gift suggestions should easily be top of mind.
Take your pick between acreage to conserve, or species to preserve.
The money raised grows the number of successful projects.
Funds raised through the green gifts program since it began, total more than $3 million.
And what does the one who gets the gift get?
(A digital distribution process had to be implemented for this year’s Green Gifts initiative due to postal disruptions.)
The third benefit is that the Conservancy puts the green gifts money to good uses.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada owns the Gillies Grove Nature Preserve in Arnprior- one of the last remaining Old Growth timber stands in Ontario.
