The owner of the newest restaurant in Renfrew says its weekend test run could not have gone better.
Iris Borghi and her team at the Swiss Alps restaurant, nestled in the former myFM station building on Raglan Street South, are thrilled following an invitation-only service on Friday, October 11th, that featured a guest list Borghi explains was designed to find problems ahead of their full opening later this week.
Borghi says guests were hard pressed to find anything to complain about that evening, leaving positive remarks for their menu of Swiss and German classics paired with regional takes on local restaurant fare. In fact, she joked that that they only blemish on the night was one complaint about the water being served coming from the tap.
The rave reviews have been a relief for Borghi, who has been using the notes from Friday to fine tune the experience ahead of their Grand Opening this Wednesday, October 16th.
Getting the Swiss Alps to its official opening has been long process for Borghi and her family, who have had to clear a number of hurdles with permits and construction since buying the building from myFM back in January.
This Wednesday’s Grand Opening is by invitation, but Borghi says there will be some space available by reservation that the community can call book by email or phone at 613-432-7690.
Full service will be open to the public by reservation starting on Thursday, October 17th.
