Joey Wilson farms just off Old Highway 17, between Arnprior and Galetta. His cash cropper’s ball cap may be a little stretched, but he does grow corn sileage and hay for his beef cattle. Nonetheless, Joey wears a number of hats to assist his fellow farmers with their own cash cropping enterprises. He’s a seed rep- or “trusted advisor” for one of the larger international seed companies, and acts as a grain buyer for a larger elevator in east-end Ottawa. Rather than use a broadcast spreader, he shares his knowledge via the Barnyard Breakdown on Valley Heritage Radio on a weekly basis.
