Fifteen members of the Renfrew County Health Coalition attended Thursday’s OHC rally in Ottawa, according to the local chapter president.
Leona Haley says her group had its origins some 16 months ago.
Neophytes at organization, the local group anticipated they might be able to run two polls in the mock vote, but ended up conducting 22 polling stations across Renfrew County.
Despite the resounding victory for maintaining and/or improving the present public system, Premier Doug Ford appears unshaken by the referendum results.
The Ontario Health Coalition has been a vocal advocate in defense of public Health Care, and Leona was inspired by the collective sentiment at last Thursday’s rally across from the Ottawa General Hospital.
Now, the Renfrew County Health Coalition is bringing the rally to the Valley.
Haley says the June 13th event at the Almonte Civitan Hall may be the spark plug to getting a local Lanark Chapter going.
