Phillippa Cranston Baran’s book, “Toller Cranston: Ice, Paint, Passion” deals with the many aspects of her late brother’s life, and she discussed these in an interview recorded at the Oldies 107.7 studio February 16th, in advance of the forthcoming book launch this coming Sunday at Arnprior’s O’Brien Theatre.
Her skater sibling evoked many an individual reaction.
Further, Phillippa is always hearing more.
She says her brother was a real crowd-pleaser.
An instant hit with fans for his energy and performance enthusiasm, it took the higher echelons of Skating considerable time to warm to Toller Cranston- and many times the judges showed it.
Judging miscues did not diminish the Cranston fan-base.
Toller Cranston’s career had an effect on how competitions are subsequently judged.
Toller’s stellar career means he has outlasted the memory of most of his opponents.
Toller Cranston was also an artist, and that aspect of his career will also be addressed at Sunday’s Book Launch at the O’Brien Theatre in Arnprior. The event begins at 2PM. Free Admission, but limited seating.
