The end of this week mark the culmination of almost a year’s efforts by the Hype Girl Squad’s group of four organizers who’ve put together the Grand Author Takeover in Carleton Place.
Tara Tappin, from Grand Rapids, is the Michigander in the organizing quartet.
There’s no one who’s been involved in the effort longer than Tara.
The back story is that Tara will at last have the opportunity to use a Canadian Walmart Gift Card sent to her by co-organizer Sarren Scribner by shopping at the Carleton Place Walmart during her visit.
Tappin says the hard work and dedication appears to have met an appreciative response from the community.
Tara says a question the Hype Girl Squad had declined to speculate on is now an open discussion- will the event be repeated in future years?
There will be tickets available at the door- likely for fifteen dollars- for Saturday’s Book Signing at the Grand Hotel, which runs from 11AM to 5PM.
