A new subject will now be mandatory learning for students in Grade 10 across Ontario.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce made the announcement yesterday, on a very important day.
Specifically, Lecce said the Holodomor famine in Ukraine and its impact on the community in Canada will be part of students Canadian history course.
Lecce stressed that knowing more about the past can help shape the future.
The curriculum addition will take effect in September 2025.
