Doing some yard renos this summer in Arnprior?
Good fences make good neighbours.
Permits are not required for fences to be built, but there are exceptions.
For example, if the fence is enclosing a pool, it does require a permit.
In Arnprior, the maximum fence height is 1.9 m (6 ft) on lot lines along a street, but the fence can be higher in the rear yard and interior side yards.
The fence shall be structurally sound. It should be on your property, on your side of the property line, not the property line itself unless you have an agreement with your neighbour.
Your fence shall not restrict access when an access easement is provided for neighbouring properties. (Refer to your survey)
You must call for locates before digging (Ontario One Call – 1-800-400-2255)
