Le Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) has announced the name of its new school, opening in Arnprior this fall.
The favoured name, l’École élémentaire catholique des Deux-Rivières, triumphed over all others in a ranked ballot amongst the school community.
The Conseil notes the geographic intersection of the Madawaska and Ottawa Rivers and the importance that the two bodies of water play locally.
The name also ties into the significance of the historic water transportation route to First Nations, and the critical ties to water and the sustainance of all life.
Also, there are no other schools with that name in Ontario.
The CECCE reminds parents it’s time to register their children to attend school locally this fall.
