As camping season draws closer, our local provincial parks remind you that you can book ahead.
Most of Algonquin Park will open to the public for day use and camping on May 12th, along with Bonnechere Park and Driftwood Park.
Ontario Parks says you can book your vehicle permit and stay five days in advance at any of the three locations through their online reservation service.
The option is open for both day permits and season-pass holders and allows you to save your spot even if the park reaches capacity. It also gets you through the gates faster, as all you’ll need to do is check in with the attendants.
Bon Echo Park will also open up on May 12th, with day passes only available at the gates at this time.
However, if you’re thinking of heading further away this summer, Fitzroy Park in the West Carleton area and Frontenac Park are part of the latest group of Ontario Parks where you can book a trip in advance.
