Carleton Place will be ahead of the curve as Ontario moves to a system of producer responsibilty for recycling.
Over the next 2.5 years, communities from across the entire Province will transition to the new program.
Locally, the move comes July 1st, and the new new residential recycling program will be managed by Circular Materials, a not-for-profit producer responsibility organization.
Town residents can be reassured this transition will result in no changes to the materials currently being collected or to your waste collection schedule.
Current recycling contractor, Emterra, has secured the new contract with Circular Materials.
Direct contact information will be provided in the coming months, and instead of getting in touch with the Town to request replacement bins- or if you have an issue with your collection, you will approach the contractor directly.
