A teenager from Barry’s Bay will compete in sledge hockey at the Renfrew County 2023 Ontario Winter Games.
15-year-old Chadd Stoppa has been playing sledge hockey for 10-years and he will get a chance to compete this weekend as a member of the Niagara Thunderblades.
Sledge hockey will be played at the Civic Centre in Petawawa.
Stoppa and the Thunderblades kicked off the tournament this morning at 10:00am against the Cruisers Silver Streaks and hit the ice again Friday afternoon at 4:00pm against the Kitchener Sidewinders.
Stoppa and his team wrap up the round robin play Saturday, February 11th at 8:00am against the Kawartha Blazers. The semifinals take place Saturday at 2:00pm and 4:00pm. The bronze medal game will be held at 9:00am on Sunday, February 12th and the gold meal game will be at 11:00am.
