My Broadcasting Corp (MBC) is looking for a MORNING NEWS ANCHOR working out of our Lake 88 studios in Perth!
We’re looking to add a dedicated, talented and professional broadcast journalist to the Lake 88 News team. The successful candidate will go above and beyond to be a local news leader, to generate relevant local news stories for on-air and online broadcast and to be active in the communities we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
-Writing, recording and performing newscasts for the morning on-air run from 6am-noon, Monday to Friday
-Updating the station website and sharing news through social media channels.
-Interviewing local newsmakers
-Preparing news stories for other time slots, station partners
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:
· Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring news content is factual
· Ablility to operate on-air board, automation program and studio equipment (training provided)
· Other related duties as assigned by Operations Manager, Group News Director or Group Program Director
· Excellent news writing and on-air presentation
· Strong audio editing and board operation skills
· Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
· Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced workplace
· Valid Ontario driver’s license (driver’s abstract requested)
