Whether it’s hidden gem or a preferred destination remains open to debate, but the Kitchen at White Lake has made the intersection of Renfrew County Road 2 and Bellamy Road pretty busy during opening hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
That’s chef Jo-Ann Laverty, who says the concept is simple; order from a menu that changes weekly and can be seen on Facebook or the web, or take your chances and show up between Noon and 6 Thursday and Friday, or Noon to 4PM Saturday.
Jo-Ann says Friday is Pizza Day- but the prep work actually begins three days before.
Pineapple, or no pineapple?
The Kitchen’s pizzas are Detroit style, twelve inches square. Pop them in the oven at home for ten to fifteen minutes at 350 degrees.
Laverty’s customer base ranges from Calabogie to Pakenham, White Lake proper and Arnprior as well as those who make the drive from Ottawa.
She says The Kitchen is not just about self-indulgence; it can help with Holiday gift-giving and seasonal entertainment orders.
Jo-Ann Laverty says if the concept alone doesn’t have your mouth watering, the aromas of an in-person visit will convince you.
Hidden Gems is a presentation of the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.
